While many folks believe teachers don't do anything in the summer, I must correct this misconception.  As a band director, there are at least 24 hours of Professional Development that must be undergone, CPR and First-Aid Certifications, preparations for band camp, and, of course, band camp itself!!!  Summer "break" is actually more like a few days for teachers in this field.  I would be interested to know how other band directors, and teachers in other areas handle their summers "off."

I've been exploring issues related to antidepressants. Side-effects are extensive, withdrawal symptoms are nasty.  I'm not convinced that they help enough to warrant the side-effects... which ARE substantial despite what some "experts' say.
